About This Special Issue
Smart cities are like a magnet for innovative workers and individuals and this encourages the circle creation that makes them more intelligent. Consequently, smart cities have many chances to take advantage of human capability and encourage creative life. The main problem is the delay in the concepts of construction technologies and their applications to transform our cities into smart cities. This problem has many reasons, one of them is not found stations for disseminating innovations in smart cities and encouraging its implementation, as well as, the lack of a clear urban policy to take advantage of construction in smart cities technologies in modern planning. Therefore, we are seeking to achieve the basic goal of devising construction strategies to transform traditional cities into cities with technologies smart by getting to know the latest technologies used in construction in the world to enhance the awareness of the public and private sectors of the implications of the trends towards smart cities, It achieved that by addressing some smart materials and methods in construction and their effective role in imparting the advantage of sustainability and intelligence on cities, like nanotechnology and its capabilities on materials that give them a contemporary concept architecture in the coating, Being a water repellent component. On the other hand, the concept of constructing skyscrapers that penetrate the sky is one of the features in smart cities, taking into account many modern technologies during built them. As well, smart roads like Solar roads, plastic roads and the glow-in-the dark roads are another aspect of intelligence in cities.
This special issues aims to publish the latest developments in the field of construction technology to transform traditional cities into smart cities and make an important contribution to science and humanity.
